Description

Polenta is a versatile comfort food made from boiled cornmeal, known for its smooth, porridge-like consistency when fresh. It can be served creamy and hot with butter and cheese, or allowed to cool and firm up so it can be sliced, grilled, or fried.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup YENE corn flour
  • 4 cups water (or water + milk for creamier taste)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp butter (optional)
  • Cheese (like Parmesan, optional)

Instruction

  • Bring water and salt to a boil.
  • Slowly whisk in the cornmeal.
  • Reduce heat to low and keep stirring to avoid lumps.
  • Cook for 20–30 minutes until thick and creamy.
  • Stir in butter or cheese if desired.
  • Serve soft, or let it cool and slice it.
