Corn Flour Baked Pasta

Description

Rich, cheesy baked pasta with a smooth, creamy sauce comforting, indulgent, and perfect for a family meal.

Ingredients

Corn flour – 2 tbsp
Pasta (penne or fusilli) – 2 cups, cooked
Cheddar cheese – 1 cup, shredded
Mozzarella cheese – ½ cup, shredded
Milk – 1 ½ cups
Butter – 2 tbsp
All-purpose flour – 2 tbsp
Garlic – 2 cloves, minced
Onion – ½ cup, finely chopped
Salt – 1 tsp
Black pepper – ½ tsp
Italian herbs – 1 tsp
Parmesan cheese – 2 tbsp, grated

Instruction

1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a baking dish.

2. Cook pasta according to package instructions, drain, and set aside.

3. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and chopped onion, sauté until translucent.

4. Sprinkle all-purpose flour and corn flour into the pan, stir to make a roux.

5. Gradually pour in milk while whisking constantly to avoid lumps.

6. Cook the sauce for 5–7 minutes until thickened.

7. Add salt, pepper, and Italian herbs. Stir in cheddar and mozzarella cheese until melted and smooth.

8. Mix the cooked pasta into the cheese sauce until fully coated.

9. Pour the mixture into the greased baking dish and sprinkle Parmesan cheese on top.

10.Bake for 25–30 minutes until the top is golden and bubbly.

11. Let cool 5 minutes before serving.
